More Pictures of the Turkish Raid...

Turkish Raiding Force...Austrian Border 1740's...Koenig Krieg II.

The Turks have plundered an area on the Austrian border! There Light cavalry are about scouting and plundering... This is the main column heading south loaded with goods etc...

They come upon a small Allied Austrian Brigade made up of Reich Armee troops. They are holding a cross roads and defending the village of Wurtburg. The Reich Armee troops are instilled with hope and confidence by the urgings  of Friar Hochwitz.

The battle goes well for the Reich Armee troops...However, after several advances and assault's the Turks finally get into contact with the Reich soldiers! The Turks overwhelm the untried Reich troops and drive them from the field...But at a heavy cost!

the Turks soon recover and pillage and burn the little town and move on south, back to their infernal lands.

This scenario was played out a few years ago. We used Koenig Krieg II. We had not gotten KK III yet. The figures are 15mm from Old Glory and Essex miniatures. It was a small game but really exciting. The battle went both ways until the very end. That's when the Turks rolled really good and the Reich troops rolled really badly!
