Vetcon 2025, Auburn California Huge Eastern Renaissance game...
Yes Vetcon 2026 was really great this year!!! There were at least 150+ gamers that attended the 4 day event in October 2026 in Auburn California this year. Many many Great historical miniatures games... I am sure Dave will get it on next year too.
Anyways, here is one of the games I played. It was a 25mm Eastern Renaissance game. Russians vs Polish, using "Pike and Shot" rules from "Wargames" a "Black Poweder" varient. Very fun game...
Here are some pictures of the game... It was a very close game... Though, the Russians came off a bit better. Winged Hussars rule...
Planet of the Apes... Oh My.....
Here are some of my most resent undertakings. 15mm Planet of the Apes miniatures. I plan to use the with Osprey Publishing rules"Tomorrw's War" or "Xenos Rampant". I included a few pictures of some 15mm space orcs. T
The Plant of the apes figures are from "Battle Scape miniatures" I believe. And the Orces are from "Ground Zero Games" "mercenary" range I belive. Both ranges are GREAT!
Some resent projects...
These are some SiFi hippos I paintrd for a friend. We plan to use them in "Stargrave", from Osprey Publishing. Or any other crazy configuration we can come up with...
Koenig Krieg, "The Wolfenbuttal War" scenario #2...
Played this battle out with a fellow gamer. He played the attacking Prussians and I played the defending Austrians. The orders of battler and terrain setup was from the scenaio guide.
The Prussians had a brigade of infantry some artillery, as well as three heavy cavalry regiments and a hussar regtiment. The Austrians had two battalions of infantry deployed at the stream to hold back the Prussians until their reinforcements came up. Unfortunately, the Austian reinforcements did not show up until it was almost too late for them!! They had to retreat to their baseline as fast as possible. Their heavy cavalry brigade did show up and stopped the Prussian advance, after some great mellee actions.
However, the Prussians did eventually drive the Austians from the field... On to the next battle...
Following are a few pixtures of the battle...
Koenig Krieg , A Battle from "The Wolfenbuttal War" by Charles S. Grant
Tried out a scenario from one of Charles S.Grants wargame scenario books "The Wolfenuttel War". I played out the first scenario. I used my 15mm Pussian and Austrian 7 years war armies as the protagonist. There are four senarios in the book. I plan on playing out the campaign...
I used the orders of battle from the book, and the terrain layout from the map in the book. The Austrians were the agreesors in the campaign, Thus, the deployed and went after the defending Prussians.
It was a good match and the Austrians eventually won the field. They had to get across the river and drive the Prussians off after some very tough infantry and cavalry engaements. The Austrian and Prussian heavy cavalry brigades had some great melee clashes!!
I iook a few pictures of the action...
