American Civil War, Brigade Fire and Fury Rules...
Hello, All, This is a recap of a game of battle of Wilsons Creek. It was the second big battle of the Civil War. It was fought outside of Springfield Missouri summer 1861. I used "Warlords Games" ACW senario book for the senario set up and order of battles. The Union had four brigades and two batteries. the Confederates had Five brigades of infantry and a cavalry brigade, plus two light batteries. Union General Lyon was exceptional.
As seen from the photos the Union set up three Brigades and two batteries on a prominate hill. The fourth Union Brigade was deployed off table , to the Confederate rear. That Union brigade was lead by General Sigle. It came on bourd game turn TWO. To the Confederates great concern... They actually thought the Brigade would be deployed behind the Union hill in reserve!
Well, as seen the Confederates were on full attack, and for the first few turns advanced to the Union Line. The Rebel cavalry moved to the flank and rear of the Union position.
There was sevarl turns of fire and close assault... Eventually the Union prevailed, and the Confederate were thrown back all across the line. It turned out to be a very good victory for the Union Army. Not like history..
It was a very fun game. The rules are very fun to play and are highly recommened by me... This was a test run game.
